Production Sustainability Values
At Gambade, we believe that storytelling is a privilege. With that privilege comes great responsibility not only to the communities these stories belong to, but to humanity. That is why our sustainability values lie at the core of all our productions and are rooted in the following four pillars.

Limiting carbon emissions
Addressing climate change is an ongoing global challenge. Gambade strives to reduce the use of energy and natural resources and adopt sustainable behaviours by prioritizing sustainable operating methods through the entire production process.

Providing livable wages
Livable wages go hand in hand with having a sustainable world. At Gambade, we believe every person deserves a livable wage and believe in creating a work environment that promotes film as a sustainable work environment and viable career.

Equity and representation
As a Canadian based operation, we focus our storytelling efforts on international co-productions that tell stories that are universal but may still be unknown to the Western market.
Our stories reflect diverse and inclusive topics, and we aim for them to be as representative as possible. That’s why on all our projects, a person(s) from that community is always involved not only in the story-telling process, but in all decision-making positions on those projects.
We believe in championing an environment where psychologically safety is valued and those from diverse backgrounds feel empowered to contribute their ideas and succeed.
As women still face barriers to career advancement in the film industry, Gambade strives to provide gender equity in all our projects.

Responsible production and consumption
Beyond limiting our carbon-emissions, small daily actions can contribute to big change. We believe in the age-old adage of “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle” and prioritize the use of eco-friendly materials as well as adopting eco-friendly behaviour throughout production, including utilizing eco-services such as ReadySetRecyle, reducing food waste and limiting the use of single-use plastics.
